On November 22, 2016 Willie "Cliff" Wilson went home to be with our Lord. Since April 25th he had been in the hospital waiting for a heart transplant and on Saturday we finally got the call that a perfect match was ready for us. Over the next few days complications arose and his body just couldn't sustain itself and his new heart and we let him go to be with his Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by family, friends and worship music that he loved. Cliff was born Willie Clifton Wilson, Jr. on February 3, 1954. He was born in San Bernardino but moved to San Diego when he was two years old. He was raised in Clairemont off Gaylord Dr. for the rest of his childhood. He spent a few years moving around and living in Iowa and Arizona but moved back to San Diego where he and his family settled in Spring Valley. Eventually he ended up in Lakeside where he lived for the rest of his days. He had many hobbies and was always up for trying new things but his true loves were surfing and horses. He could fit in anywhere and loved that he could go from the beach to the mountains within an hour. He spent so much of his time in both places with his family and friends laughing, teasing each other and just being with people. Cliff came to the Lord in his late teens and He was a huge part of his life. In his last few months in the hospital Cliff drew so close to The Lord and ministered to so many friends and even strangers. He was loved by so many and his presence will be missed for many, many years to come. I know many feel privileged to have known him and would like to honor him. Services will be held at Lone Oak Ranch where Cliff spent so many years riding. The Lord put on his heart to speak about being an organ donor so if you feel led I know he would love for you to become an organ donor or donate blood. His family would greatly appreciate it too. Cliff was given these words months ago, and they gave him such comfort while he was waiting in the hospital, "Since you were precious in my sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life." Isaiah 43:4 His family would love so much for you to join them in celebrating his life. Services will be held January 7, 2017 at 1:00pm. Please come and bring your Cliff stories. We would love to hear them. Cliff was survived by his Mother Barbara Wilson; his wife Saranne Wilson, his son Timothy Wilson and his wife Tonya; his daughter Abigail Brewer and her husband Ron along with his grandchildren Braden and Samantha.
