Ron, as he was known to most was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He grew up in Saginaw, MI, and Boulder, CO. He spent his last 49 years in San Diego County. He was spontaneous and fun-loving. He lived life as he wanted.
He collected medical cartoons and jokes and gave them to his doctors and dentists on his numerous visits. Doctors were amazed that he was still alive, and frankly, so was he. He lived to be 73 years old.
Ron had an interesting collection of jobs throughout the years. He did serve his country in the U. S. Air Force, and helped design and service some of the first ATM's in California. But mostly, he helped to make sure that we had safe air to breathe by working in the engineering division of the Air Pollution Control District.
Ron was always experimenting with something or learning something new. His first project that I witnessed was creating a bathtub water alarm that let you know when the tub was filled to the amount you wanted. One of his last projects was installing solar panels on the shed that followed the sun. Our house solar panels don't do that.
Ron built his own computer and printer before most people even heard about computers. He has probably built 20 computers since then for family and friends. He was proud of his class three rocket license. One of the rockets that he launched was one of the top launches of an amateur that year. He played a mean game of chess, and he loved eating out.
He was generous, loving, and kind. He was always smiling and in a good mood. He would want all his family and friends to be optimistic and happy.
