On Sunday, September 22, 2019, Takeko Supsic of Bonita, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 86. Takeko was born on February 20, 1933 to Kahei and Kaya Iwamoto in Goto-retto off the western coast of Kyūshū, Japan. Takeko married Francis A. Supsic in 1956, with whom she had three children. Takeko spent most of her working years as a homemaker with two of those years as a Japanese dancer for Sea World of San Diego (1967-68). During her free time, Takeko enjoyed knitting, travelling, cooking, gardening, drying her own fruits & vegetables, going to the gym, and in her later years relaxing while watching Japanese soap operas with her two cats. Takeko is survived by two of her three children Kay McAteer of San Diego, and Tomi Supsic of Bonita. Takeko will be buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, CA during a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Mama's Kitchen or Sharp HospiceCare.
