Scott passed away February 22, 2017 surrounded by his loving Wife and Daughter and family and friends.
He was born and raised in Providence, Utah, raised on a Beautiful Fruit Farm on the foothills of the Wasatch mountains. In 1950 Scott joined the United States Navy and spent the next 4 years serving in the Korean War as an Elevator Operator bringing planes from the storage to the flight deck. When Honorably discharging from the Navy he went to Aerodynamic School to learn aeromechanics. Scott was a wonderful husband and Dad. He loved working with his hands and loved to wood work for enjoyment and built many beautiful things. He was very faithful to his church and was very loved there also.
Scott married Karen L. Mallory on December 21, 1954 in LDS Mesa Arizona Temple. Then went to work for California State Highways as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He retired from CalTrans as a Supervisor.
Scott and Karen had two children, Craig S. Baer and Laura K. Baer. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years Karen LaRae Baer (Mallory), and daughter Laura K. Baer, sisters Juanita Davis, and Donna Wright. Scott was preceded in death by his son Craig S. Baer, brothers Glen, Wesley, and Lloyd, and sister Lois.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 at 10:00 AM at the LDS Chapel Grossmont Ward, 8902 Highwood Drive., San Diego, CA 92119 followed with the Funeral Service beginning at 11 AM. Burial service to follow at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California.
