Sarah A (Ponce) Crawford of San Diego, passed away on January 29, 2018 in San Diego, CA. She was born on August 20, 1932 to Martin and Maria Ponce and grew up in Old Town. Sarah met the love of her life, husband Edgar L Crawford who preceded her in death in 2005. Ed was in the U.S Navy, stationed in San Diego when they met at the Palisade Gardens Roller Skating Rink on University Avenue in North Park. They were married on Dec. 16, 1948. Sarah loved her family, but most of all she loved being a grandma and was truly a fun and crazy grandma that all the kids adored. She is survived by her sons – Terry and his wife Sue, Lee and his wife Patricia; four grandchildren – Jason and his wife Tracy, Kristen and her husband Mike, Shannon and her husband Ivan, and Alan; eight great-grandchildren (listed by age) Alyssa, Skyler, Joscelyn, Caiden, Adelyne, Lina, Victor and Ashlyne. Sarah was one of 15 siblings and is survived by Helen, Mathias, David, Ernie and Betty. Services: Memorial service will be at 12:30 PM, Friday, March 2, 2018 at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Point Loma.
