Robert (Bob) Arthur Tylicki of Valley Center (San Diego), CA was born in Garfield Heights, OH to the late Arthur and Nora Tylicki. He was formally of Upper Marlboro, MD, Amherst, NH, North Andover, MA, Lynnfield, MA, Virginia Beach, VA and Pensacola, FL. Bob graduated from Garfield Heights High School where he was a top scholar. He had perfect attendance from 1st grade through his senior year. He was on the football team and wrestling team as well as played the trumpet in the school band. Bob was always an overachiever. In his senior year he placed 1st in the state of Ohio Science Fair with his 450 page paper on Surfaces to the nth Degree. In 1981 Bob married the love of his life, Mary T. Caniff, the daughter of Bernard L Caniff, Sr and the late Anne M Caniff of Lynnfield, MA. They were lovingly committed to each other for 36 years. Bob and Mary were blessed with two wonderful children, Robert, Jr and Tara. Captain Robert A, Tylicki USN (Retired) served over 30 years for the United States Navy. He had many accolades during his much loved years of service, including five awards while serving at the Pentagon the last six years of service, 2 Legion of Merit and 3 Meritorious Service Medals. Bob started his career as an F-14 Tomcat Naval Flight Officer and was a Top Gun graduate. Bob held many Commanding Officer and Executive Officer positions. After retirement he worked as a Defense Contractor for Odyssey Systems Consulting, CACI and BAE Systems. Bob received his BA in history/math from Case Western Reserve University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He later received his MBA in Finance from Boston College. While thoroughly enjoying life, he loved boating, fishing, traveling and especially his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his beautiful smile, kind heart and loving nature. Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Mary, two children Robert Jr. (Jessica) of Lynnfield, MA and Tara of San Diego, CA as well as two grandchildren, Olivia and Ryan of Lynnfield, MA, three brothers, Tom of OH, Dan (Katie) of OH and Gary of AZ, his father-in-law Bernard L Caniff, Sr and his wife, Carol of Boston, Cape Cod and Naples, FL, his aunt Olga Hoffman of OH, many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and coworkers. In September of 2018 Captain Tylicki was interred at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. He is greatly missed by all who loved him.
