Robert, better known as Bob to friends and family, was born on January 26, 1952, in Hastings, Michigan and died peacefully in his Santee, California home surrounded by family on November 29, 2016. He lived a full, colorful and meaningful life. Bob is survived by his wife, 5 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren, a loving sister and countless friends. Whatever Bob did, he did it 110%! Bob gave his whole heart to the people and the work he committed to during his lifetime. He spent 45 years in the field of nursing including many years caring for people who others often found it hard to understand. He began his medical career serving as a medic during the Vietnam Era and it was there that he was exposed to Agent Orange which ultimately led to the medical complications resulting in his leaving us much too soon. Beyond his work in nursing, Robert was active in many organizations that supported others including: Vets Journey Home, the Mankind Project, Boys 2 Men, the HER Weekend, and 12 step recovery programs. He loved helping others and was an incredible healer. He was also an avid fisherman, a talented artist and a man who loved his dogs. Bob will be dearly missed and remembered by the friends and family he cherished. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Clubhouse at the New Frontier Communities, 9255 North Magnolia Avenue, Santee, CA 92071. Please join us.
