Richard Irwin Zumwalt entered this life on November 11, 1925 in San Diego, California and entered into rest on August 29, 2016 in Loma Linda, California at the age of 90 years. After residing in the San Diego and Spring Valley, California area for 89 years, Richard recently moved to the Loma Linda, California area for the last year of his life. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force retiring as a Colonel. He enjoyed his 50 year career as a Nurse Anesthetist both in the Air Force and civilian capacity. He was a faithful and active member of the La Mesa Adventist Community Church in La Mesa, California. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Life Service with military honors will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the La Mesa Adventist Community Church, 4207 Spring Gardens Road, La Mesa, CA 91941. Richard will be privately laid to rest beside his late wife Irene Ruth Zumwalt at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California
