Phyllis Giannini, (June 11, 1941 to May 29, 2016) loving wife and the mother of five children, the grandmother of ten children and the great-grandmother of four children. Loving wife of Terry John Walker, mother of Lucille Deborah Giannini, Sandra Daniels, Mary Giannini, Robert Giannini and John Giannini and the grandmother of Bobby and Nicholas Daniels, Joshua and Jason Giannini, Selena and Jilda Flores, Richard Owen IV, Ashley and Alexis Donahue and Lucia Giannini. She had a strong sense of family and was in every respect the quintessential mother. She had a huge heart and never turned anyone in need away, opening her home to all who required it and mothering those within her home, often with tough love. Among her family members that have been benefitted by this bountiful nature have been Colleen and her son Justin. She was fearsome when it came to protecting those that she loved although not duplicitous she could give Machiavelli a run for his money when the situation called for it. She was a hot-blooded Italian in every sense of the word with a hair trigger temper when riled but it was always for the benefit and best interest of those that she loved. She brought joy and laughter to all who were close to her and anguish to those who would harm her family or the people that she loved and protected. She was often perceived as controlling but always her efforts to control were for the best interest of those she loved. In Webster's dictionary under "mother," Phyllis Giannini should be listed as a synonym. Additionally and in many ways she was also a peacemaker in healing families that had become dysfunctional and fractured. She worked to resolve difficulties always protecting those that she loved but seeking to heal and reunify family members of those families that were not directly related to her. She brought back together fathers and sons as well as mothers and daughters often in a somewhat chaotic fashion but always effective. You could not have a better friend than Phyllis, she was completely loyal to her friends through thick and thin and she was a really good judge of character so if you were her friend you were a very good person. She loved animals as much or more than some people she came in contact with. The love of her life was her long haired dappled dachshund named Chloe. She raised Chloe from a puppy and they were constant companions until Chloe passed away. They are together now. She leaves behind two little dachshunds and a spoiled cat. They all miss her and look for her throughout the home. She was a continual supporter of the Humane Society and actively sought to prevent cruelty to animals. Therefore, in lieu of flowers she would prefer a donation made in her name to the Humane Society. She was a complicated person being both earthy and sophisticated while engendering the best qualities of each extreme, unpredictable and spontaneous, she was the perfect life partner and friend. She will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives she touched. From Steven Walker Phyllis was the most awesome stepmother that anyone could have. She was a very loving and nurturing soul and encouraged my father and me to reconnect. As a result my father and I have talked more often and our relationship is much better because of Phyllis. She had the amazing ability to pull everybody together in hard times. She always supported me as her stepson and was very loving. She had a heart as big as the moon that shined twice as bright. I love her with all my heart and know that she is being held in God's arms. I love her and will miss her very, very much.
