Marguerite Falkenborg, at age 91, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2021 at her home in Chula Vista, California, surrounded by nephews and longtime caregivers. Marguerite, was known to her nieces, nephews and friends as "Aunt Babe" or just "Babe". She was born on March 21 st,1930 at Pasadena, California. Babe was the youngest of five siblings, hence the nickname "Babe". Her brothers, Carlyle and Don, and her sisters Betty and Leora, all predeceased her. Marguerite would become a pioneer for women in the legal community in San Diego County, being one of the first six female lawyers there. She graduated from USC law school in 1954 and was admitted to the bar in 1955. She practiced law in her office in Chula Vista continuously until December 2020, when she announced her retirement. Marguerite focused on family law for a good part of her career and developed a reputation as a fierce advocate for her clients. Babe was never married and did not have children. She was survived by many nieces and nephews, namely, Tom, Bruce and Tisa (children of her brother Carlyle), Steve, Barbara and Rick (children of her sister Betty), Jim, John and Art (children of her sister Leora), Lynn and Don (children of her brother Don). Babe was also survived by great-niece Andrea, and great-nephew Cody, children of her deceased nephew Bill (son of her brother Don), and great-nephew Michael and great-niece Alison, children of her deceased niece, Elizabeth (daughter of her sister Leora),. John says "Babe's support for all of us, the fun, the exciting, and some crazy ideas, all of that made her "Aunt Babe" What a fine example of life!" Art says "Babe loved her nieces and nephews and was the family historian, teaching us all about 1st and 2nd cousins once and twice and thrice removed, and frequently correcting our English. Babe had an indomitably positive and enthusiastic spirit and always encouraged her niece's and nephew's adventures and escapades. She loved to travel in her younger years to the far and wild and even trekked the famous Milford Trek in The New Zealand Alps with her sister Leora! Babe was ever loving to her numerous pet Dobermans, despite their sometimes less than loving behavior to strangers (RIP Prince....lol)" Babe was cremated and her ashes are presently sitting on the mantle at her home in Chula Vista. Plans for a small celebration of life are pending
