Age 39, passed away suddenly July 15, 2016 in San Diego, CA. Born in Joliet, living in Lockport most of her life before moving to California in 2004, where she worked as a Social Worker for API. She was a 1991 graduate of Kelvin Grove Middle School, 1995 graduate of Lockport Township High School, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2000 from De Paul University and received her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University, San Diego, CA. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, had a great passion for scuba diving, loved to sail, was an exceptional student and had a love and passion for animals, especially her dogs. Kiki had a heart of gold, was friends with everyone, had a positive and bright spirit; in her short time here on earth she has impacted so many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents. Survived by her loving parents, Russell and Joellyn (Badger) Carpenter; a sister Danielle Carpenter; a brother Jacob Carpenter; a niece Shelby Carpenter; aunts and uncles, Jerrilynn Cheek, Jillann (the late Donald) McGregor, the late Jackelynn Johnson, Gloria Ready, Geary (Kelly) Carpenter, the late Dennis and Kim Carpenter, the late Cynde Vance, the late Dale Carpenter and the late Kristi Carpenter. Numerous cousins and friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Kendra's name to an Animal organization of your choice would be appreciated. A Memorial Gathering celebrating Kendra's life will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 12:30P.M. until time of Memorial Services at 3:00P.M. in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel, 1105 E. 9th St. (159th St.), Lockport with Pastor Jon Pedersen officiating.
