Jennie lived the biggest part of her life in San Diego County. She was born March 28th 1922 in Erie Pennsylvania. She died June 22nd, 2016 at Harbor View Chateau in San Diego. Jennie's father was John Christian Christensen who was born in Denmark. John married Louisa Irene Lake, Jennie's mother who was born in Clinton Iowa. Jennie had 3 brothers and a sister, all of which preceded her in death. John in 1989, Robert in 2013, Alfred in 1945 and sister Emma in 2016. Jennie attended Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois where she graduated in 1940. She had many places of employment over her life including working in the cafeteria of Southwestern College in Chula Vista. She was employed for many years by Safeway. She also worked as a banquet waitress at the Kona Kai Club on Shelter Island. Jennie married Kenneth F. Wilson in Highland Park, Illinois in 1942 and was his wife until his death in 1981. Jennie and Kenneth had 4 children. Preceded in death by her youngest child Leslie Wilson who died in 2010, and survived by her other children including daughter Charlotte L. Cramer, sons Kenneth R. Wilson and Harold R. Wilson. Jennie was grandmother to eleven grandchildren and two step grandchildren. She has many great grandchildren. Jennie was lovingly cared for in her later years by her daughter in law Elvina Wilson before she moved to Harbor View Chateau last year. Jennie and Kenneth lived for several years in Adak and Anchorage Alaska prior to Kenneth's retirement. Jennie loved to sew, knit, crochet and do woodworking. She did numerous DIY projects on her house and those of her family. She will be missed by her family and friends. Jennie's wish was to be buried next to her husband at Hawthorne Gardens in Grants Pass, Oregon. Burial will be Friday, July 1, at 2 pm.
