Jean Marie Ayers (McGilvray) was born in West Hollywood, California on November 27, 1942. She died on April 8, 2021 in her cherished little Granny flat with her daughter Naomi by her side. Jean was also known as Jeannie, Jeannie Beanie and Wee Jean. Throughout her life she was a daughter, sister, niece, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many, many people. She loved playing sports, animals and being outside. She also loved to walk and logged countless miles all over West Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley, Bullhead and Kingman, Arizona as well as in San Diego. She was a hard-working woman and enjoyed many years as a laboratory technician, proudly following in her mother's footsteps. If you asked her what was most important to her she would not hesitate to tell you...FAMILY. For Jean family was everything and family was not only defined by blood but by the heart. Her circle of love was big and always growing. She always wanted people to know they mattered and they were loved. Whether it was a phone call, a greeting card or a comment on a FaceBook post, she found a way to let those in her circle know they were important to her. We celebrate that she is at peace and finally free from the bonds of this earthly life. A simple graveside memorial service will be held for Jean at San Fernando Mission Cemeteries located at 11160 Stranwood Ave., Mission Hills, California 91345 on Friday, April 16th at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to a charity in Jean's honor. Causes that were especially near and dear to her heart were the empowerment of women and girls, caring for animals and feeding the hungry.
