James Edward Beat May 27, 1932 - March 23, 2022 James Edward Beat, 89, of Carlsbad, CA, passed away on March 23, 2022 from congestive heart failure. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Roberta Beat (Carlsbad, CA), sister, Betty Roland (San Diego, CA), four children: Debby Fuson (Port Angeles, WA), Dennis Beat (Iron Station, NC), David Beat (Alpine, CA), Dale Beat (Alpine, CA), stepdaughter, Barbara Adgate (Carlsbad, CA), nine grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild. Jim was born in Sandusky, OH, and moved his family to San Diego, CA, in 1964. He owned his own company, J.B Concrete Construction, and was respected by family, friends, employees and contractors for his strong, honest work ethic. Jim served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a devout Catholic and was ready to be with God. He always enjoyed a good Margarita with carne asada and was known for his famous quote, "You're burning daylight!"
