Gabriel Naim Baccash,100 years old. Born in Aleppo, Syria July 2, 1917 to Mary Maroon Baccash. He attended 3 years of High School in Cario, Egypt with the Jesuit Brothers and spent the last year of High School in New Jersey. He joined the Army Air Corp (USAF) and was an Aircraft Mechanic. He served for 28 years. During the war he was a French interpreter for one of the American Generals. After a military career, he worked for Ryan Aeronautical and then for San Diego County, Sheriffs Dept. He married Angelina Mary Agia in July 4,1942. They were married 64 years before her passing in 2006. He loved to read and spoke 3 languages fluently, English, Arabic and French. He is preceded in death by his wife Angelina. Survived by: Three (3) children: Odette, Cheryl, Norman. Six (6) grandchildren: Lisa, Denise, David, Elisha , Zachary, Brielle Five (5) great grand children, Terra, Nichole, Tommy, Landon and Merritt Two (2) great- great grandchildren, Conner and Adelynn. Spouses: (Odette) John, (Cheryl) Duncan, (Norman) Laurie, (Lisa) Tom, (Denise) Robert, (Elisha) Todd and (Terra) Aaron. Also, survived by family relatives Therese and Frank Dorsett and family. A 100th birthday celebration with friends and extended family was celebrated on July 1,2017 and it gives us great pleasure that he enjoyed seeing the family all together. He served 28 years in the USAF and received: Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal WWII, American Campaign Medal WWII, European Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal, WWII Army of Occupation Medal w/Berlin Airlift Device, Medal for Humane Action, and the National Defense Medal. We traveled the world with our parents and had a wonderful childhood. Our memories are abound of laughter and travel. In 2008, at the age of 91 he wrote a book of his life as told to Aura Loveland. It is story of an immigrant's love for his family and America. He was devoted to our mother and family. His faith was extremely important and it gave him great comfort throughout his life. His smile and laughter will be missed. RIP dad, we love you.
