Emma Beatriz Gonzalez Lopez viuda de Gonzalez On the evening of Monday August 15, 2016, at 8:43pm, Emma passed away peacefully of natural causes. Emma was surrounded and comforted by her family at Sharps ParkView Hospice facility in San Diego, CA at the time of her passing. Emma was 99 years 6 months and 18 days. Emma was born on January 28, 1917 in Balancan, Tabasco, Mexico to Angel Armando Gonzalez and Tomasa Lopez de Gonzalez. Emma preceded 1 grandson, her husband, mother, father and all of her siblings. Her 3 daughter's Olga, Nora and Beatriz succeeded Emma. Also, 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 46 great-great grandchildren. Emma enjoyed traveling back and forth from Mexico and San Diego in order to spend time with her family. On any given day you would find her Knitting or Crocheting at the kitchen table. As a child I "Teresa" loved to practice crocheting with her and watching her work without a pattern. I remember she bought me my first ball of thread and crochet hook "which I still have". Emma loved to read anything she could find especially religious booklets. Tia Nora said when she called Tio Tano he would ask her how she was and as with all of us she answered with "como mango". I asked her, do feel like a juicy or old and wrinkled mango? and depending on her mood was her answer. Emma believed in Education, so much so she attended English class for 50 years to speak to us in Spanish! At the ripe old age of 77 her grandson Angel Beto" Elizondo convinced her to applying for Citizenship and on August 5, 2004 she proudly became an American Citizen. I remember taking her to vote for the first and only time. I asked so who are you voting for? She told me she didn't know you file it out for me. Abuelita, we love and miss you very much! Now that you are in Heaven above we know you have found peace and are surrounded by all of those who went before you.
