Donald Barry Stewart, "Don" was a devoted and beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to so many. He leaves a huge hole in all their hearts. But the Lord had other plans for Don. Don lived a life of purpose and service. A retired Navy Veteran, Active Federal Police Officer and church member, Don served respectfully and with all his heart. Don met the love of his life, Jana in 2007. They spent 10 years together creating a beautiful home with each other. "And the Lord God said, it is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper suitable to him." Don served Jana faithfully and humbly, one of the most cherished parts of his life. They had a wonderful life together with their new puppy Sammy, who will forever miss his dad. Don also had a lighter side. He loved to laugh, tell jokes and make Donald Duck impressions. His brother used to always tell him, "even a blind squirrel gets a nut every once in a while". His hobbies included traveling, fishing, horseback riding, shooting, and going on long walks on the beach with his wife Jana. He touched countless lives with his humor, kindness and generosity. Don fiercely protected those he loved and were a part of his life. Don departed this earth at 61 years old. he loved the Lord with all his heart and will continue to protect those he loved from heaven. He is survived by his wife Jana, his mother Anita, his twin sister Lois his brother Pete, his nieces and nephews and numerous friends. Philippians 4:7 "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus". Don you will always be, "our sunshine". A memorial service and celebrations of Don's life has been planned for July 8th at 11:00am at Murphy Canyon Chapel 3200 Santo Rd, San Diego, CA 92124.
