Deon's Obituary On September 10, 2022, Deon Charlene Gilley, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California from multiple organ failure. She has lived in El Cajon, California for over thirty years. Deon was born October 25, 1961, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ruth Breeze Gilley and Charles Gilley. She attended Eisenhower Jr. High but did not graduate. Deon married Steven Gilbert, had a son, and were then divorced. She later married Kenneth George Malmin. They had two children and were also divorced. Deon was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Charles Gilley, her oldest son Abri Jo Gilbert (2008), and her sister Elaine Boccagno (2020). She is survived by her two children, Kortney Malmin Rodriguez and Travis Malmin, and two grandchildren, Julian Rodriguez and Madison Hall. She is also survived by siblings Sandy (Frank) Campbell, Keith (Kathy) Gilley, Becky (Kurt) Allgaier, and Bobbie (Jack) Elmer.
