Charles "Chuck" Norkowski, beloved husband and father, passed away on November 28th at the age of 41, after a yearlong battle with cancer. Chuck served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corp for eight years, and received an honorable discharge in September of 2001. He went on to a civilian career as a Budget Analyst for CACI, working alongside Marines on Miramar base, where he was awarded membership into the esteemed Encore Achievers Club due to his creation of current program systems used to date on bases nationwide. Born in Danbury CT, Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Karen. Following graduation from Danbury High and a tour of duty in Japan, the Marine Corps brought him to the San Diego California area, where he and his family have lived ever since. To know Chuck was to love Chuck. He was a giver in the truest form whether it was lending a helping hand, hosting the holiday BBQ's, helping out the kids sports teams or just seeing a need someone had. He was quick with a smile and a joke and loved to enjoy life. He was a modest man but his enjoyment of life was reflected in him when he played his music loud, was firing up the grill for the BBQ's, making an occasional Do It Yourself improvements to his family home. Chuck was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend, as well as an avid golfer and craftsman. He will be most remembered for his smile, quiet nature, willingness to do anything for a friend and inspirational courage and spirit. Chuck is survived by his wife Karen Norkowski and his two children, Trevor Norkowski & Amelia Norkowski, his parents Liz & Steve Lubin, his sisters Jennifer Norkowski and Amy Lubin and his brother Jimmy Norkowski. Additionally, he is survived by his mother of heart Anne Reichman, brother of heart Steven Eppinger, sister of heart Christine Eppinger and his beloved nephew Brett Eppinger. Visitation will be held on Monday December 5th from 4pm – 8pm at Legacy Funeral Home and Crematorium on 7043 University Ave. La Mesa, CA 91942. Light refreshments will be served.
