Daughter of Charles and Holly Henry, she was born in San Francisco CA, attended high school in the bay area and applied to the navy at the age of 19 where she met her first husband Eurell Malone and had two children Charles Malone and Stephanie Reeve. Later on in life she remarried Charles W. McHenry and had a daughter Shannon McHenry. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and her sister Mari Lyn who lives in New York City. A true native Californian, she spent most of her life in San Diego, began a house cleaning business and received an Associates degree in Psychology. Charla was an independent woman, a fierce democrat an avid reader and an old soul. She passed away at Kearny Mesa Convalescent Home in San Diego from terminal Illness. Before she passed she was heard to proclaim: "Batten Down the Hatches" a nautical term defined as secure the ship, to prepare for trouble. She is now pain free and with the angels. She will be missed dearly.
