Blanca Lucia Steele (nee Arana Martinez) age 79, passed away at Scripps Memorial Hospital in San Diego, California on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Blanca will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert, her two sons Robert and Charles, and her grandson, Michael. Blanca always took care of everyone around her; she was a dedicated wife, loyal friend and confidant, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She cherished her friends and family and nurtured the bonds with her loved ones, answering to many loving names: Blanca, Mom, Cuchy, Granny, Grantie. A devout lifelong Catholic, Blanca was an active member of Our Mother of Confidence Church and served as Eucharistic minister for many years. She found great joy and made treasured friends doing volunteer work at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. According to her wishes, Blanca will be cremated, and a private service will take place at the Miramar National Cemetery.
