Alex entered this life on April 8, 1987 in San Diego, California and entered into rest on May 9, 2014 at the age of 27 years in San Diego, California. He will be deeply missed by his mother Debbie Fleming, father Dennis Rodriguez, sister Sara Vlasach, fiancé Nicolle LaVallee, grandmother Betty Fleming, as well as extended family and friends. Alex was born and has resided in the San Diego, California area for his life years. He had also attended local schools in the San Diego area. He enjoyed his career as a lifeguard and swimming instructor followed by several years as an ironworker in the construction industry, ultimately becoming a Fourth Period Apprentice. He was pursuing his second certification in iron welding, with the desire to become a professional underwater welder. His true passion was for fishing in the sea. Alex spent countless days and nights catching almost anything that swam as he loved the thrill of landing a big catch. Whether on his Dad's boat or his recently retrofitted Zodiac, he would patiently spend hours on end doing what he loved. And when he did have something to bring home, he would surprise friends, family, and even neighbors with a piece of his catch. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 12 noon until 4 PM with the funeral service starting at 4 PM at Legacy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 7043 University Ave., La Mesa, California. Alex will be privately laid to rest.
